INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE
The slogan for International Day against Drug Abuse 2025: “Breaking the Chains: Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery for All!”
The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in an annual event established by the United Nations to raise awareness of the global problem and dangers of drug abuse. This day also highlights the importance of treatment, regular testing and rehabilitation for substance users.
With our Clinical Chemistry analyzers, Diatron offers alcohol and drug testing solutions to a variety of testing facilities such as treatment centers, physician office labs, reference labs and pain management facilities by providing laboratory diagnostic instruments.
Especially Diatron US is involved in drug abuse awareness efforts by:
- Supporting International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (World Drug Day): This day is celebrated every year to encourage action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug abuse. Diatron US supports this day by providing reliable testing solutions for prevention, monitoring, and recovery.
- Raising Awareness during National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week: This annual event focuses on substance use, addiction, and prevention. Diatron US promotes awareness by highlighting prevention programs and the importance of reliable testing solutions.
- Addressing Senior Drug Addiction: Diatron US recognizes the growing problem of substance abuse among older adults and the need for a multi-disciplinary approach to diagnosis and pain management.
- Diatron clinical chemistry analyzers in the US are capable of drug testing and play a supporting role in the clinical evaluation of individuals with suspected drug abuse. Long-term drug abuse (e.g. alcohol, opioids, stimulants) can damage the liver and kidneys, which the analyzers of the Pictus family can detect by indirect signs such as enzymes and markers in the patient’s body.
We are committed to the daily fight for drug abuse awareness. Through our core business of drug testing systems, we provide the tools necessary to support prevention and recovery day in and day out, a mission we also champion through our involvement in national and international observances.
